Santa’s Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee the Elf - Day 33

Santa, Blitzen, and Rudolph today at the Bakesale

Hi everyone!

We had a great day. Our bakesale was a real success. We made almost $2,000. Well, we actually only made $1,000 but Santa donated another $1,000. So we now have enough money to buy new decorations to decorate our entire town.

Everyone liked the Gingerbread house that Crystal and I made. We raffled it off to the highest bidder for $55.00.

Mrs. Claus bought all kinds of goodies at the bakesale. My favorite was the Peanut Butter cookies. We all ate so many snacks today that nobody was hungry at suppertime.

The best part of the bakesale was when Santa, Rudolph and Blitzen arrived with the sleigh. Santa let the children (even some grownups!) climb into the sleigh and have their pictures taken with him. You should of seen Rudolph, he is such a show-off,  he loves to have his picture taken.

After the bakesale Mrs. Claus took a group of us girls  shopping for Christmas decorations. We bought a lot of cool things. You should see the sparkling star we bought for the big tree on the common.

We didn’t have time to buy all our decorations today so we are going shopping again on Saturday.

Well I better say goodnight. Mrs. Claus is calling us for our hot chocolate. Then we have to go to bed.

Talk to you tomorrow!

Santa’s Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee the Elf - Day 32

Here is a picture of the gingerbread house we made today which will be raffled off at the town bakesale tomorrow.

Hi everyone!

I have good news….we passed the Reindeer inspection. The Reindeer all passed their physicals and behaved themselves perfectly. We were a little worried about Cupid with his weight problem but luckily the inspector didn’t seem to notice. Santa now has his license to deliver toys on Christmas eve.

I did not have my skiing lesson today because of the Reindeer inspections this morning. After the inspection was over I had to work in the toyshop to finish painting the dolls faces (they are sooo cute!). After the paint dries, Rosie (the short elf) and I are going wrap the dolls in pretty boxes.

We are having a bakesale tomorrow to raise money for the town Christmas Tree Party. Every year we have a big party to decorate the giant tree in the center of town. Everyone is invited, we sing songs and drink hot chocolate while decorating the tree. Everyone loves it when Santa arrives with the reindeer and takes them for a ride. If you are anywhere near the North Pole on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, you are invited to our party….it’s going to be a lot of fun!

After lunch today my friend Crystal and I made a gingerbread house for the bakesale tomorrow. Mrs. Claus said it was the best looking gingerbread house she has ever seen. I just hope it tastes as good as it looks!

After we made the gingerbread house we baked some sugar cookies and brownies. Crystal ate so much cookie dough that she had a tummy ache and had to lay down on the couch. Don’t worry, she is okay now.

Well I better say goodnight. It is already past my bedtime.

See you tomorrow!

Santa’s Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee the Elf - Day 32

 Hi everyone!

How are you doing? I am feeling a lot better today. Mrs. Claus finally let me go to my ski lesson this morning. Since I missed my lesson yesterday, my ski teacher let me practice for an extra half an hour. I think I am doing pretty good…I only fell down 3 times today!

After my lesson I had to go to work in the toyshop to finish painting the dolls faces. While I was painting the smoke alarm went off so we all had to run outside in the freezing cold without our coats. We could see smoke coming out of the windows. The firemen came with their trucks and everything. Luckily we did not actually have a fire. I guess Chuckie the elf threw smoke bombs around the toyshop to try to scare us into thinking there was a fire. You should of seen how angry Santa was at Chuckie. I don’t think I ever saw Santa so mad!

Because the toyshop still smelled of smoke we could not go back to work. So we had to clean the barn instead to get ready for our Reindeer inspection tomorrow. I wish you could see how great the barn looks. We even hung sparkling colored lights all around the Reindeers’ stalls. The Reindeer love the lights!

Santa weighed all the Reindeer this afternoon and they are all normal weight except for Cupid. He is still 18 pounds overweight. Poor Cupid diets and exercises with all the other reindeer but cannot seem to lose the weight.

Well I have to go now and help Mrs. Claus finish baking the Gingerbread cookies for the town bakesale on Wednesday. Hopefully, Mrs. Claus will let me eat a few cookies!

See you tomorrow! Kiss

Santa’s Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee the Elf - Day 31

Here is Santa at the computer checking his toy list. Notice how skinny Santa looks. He is pulling in his stomach because Mrs. Claus was laughing at how chubby he was getting.

Hi everyone!

How are you doing. I am  not feeling too well today. I have been coughing all day long. Mrs. Claus would not even let me go to my skiing lesson this morning. I told her I was well enough to ski but she still would not let me go.

Since I have a cold I was not allowed to work in the toyshop today. I guess Santa was afraid everyone else would catch my cold. So I sat by the fireplace scanning Santa’s letters into the computer. I still cannot believe how many letters Santa receives. I hope he has enough toys for everyone.

While I was working on Santa’s letters I must of fallen asleep. Because when I woke up Mrs. Claus was ringing the bell for supper. At supper Mrs. Claus told me I was asleep for almost 3 hours. I cannot believe that I slept for so long. Santa says the cough medicine I took at lunchtime probably made me sleepy.

Santa says we are going to be really busy for the next few days because we have to get the reindeer ready for their inspections. The Reindeer inspector is going to visit us on Tuesday.

I bet you did not know that Santa has to get a special license from the Reindeer Board of Health to deliver presents on Christmas eve? A Reindeer inspector has to visit us every year to make sure the reindeer are healthy and that the sleigh is safe.

We almost did not pass inspection last year because Rudolph was playing one of his jokes. Rudolph had all the reindeer put heavy weights on their hoofs. So when the inspector weighed them they were all overweight. At first the inspector would not give Santa his license because the reindeer were too fat. Then the Reindeer started laughing and took the weights off their hoofs. It was so funny that everyone started laughing; even the crabby inspector.

Well I better be saying goodnight. It is almost snacktime. Since I am sick, Mrs. Claus let me choose our snack tonight. So we are having peanut butter on Ritz crackers and chocolate milk (yum!).

See you tomorrow! Innocent

Santa’s Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee the Elf - Day 30

This is the view from my living room window. The snow makes everything so magical!

Hi everyone!

Sorry I did not write to you yesterday. I have been so busy the last couple of days. I have been working in the toyshop painting the dolls faces. After I finish my painting I work on Santa’s letters. I am sure glad I have my new scanner to scan Santa’s mail into the computer.

I did not have my ski lesson today because we had a big snowstorm this morning. We got about 22 inches of snow. Luckily Santa didn’t make us shovel. Since there was so much snow, Jed, the man down the street plowed our driveways for us.

Most of my friends are complaining about the snow but I love it. Bobbijean and I have already been outside with our snowshoes on. It was kind of hard walking in the deep snow, but we had fun. We walked all the way out to the reindeer barn and then over to visit Mrs. Mallory. Mrs. Mallory lives down the street with her two cats FeFe and Boris. She is a great cook! Today she gave us a delicious piece of apple pie and a glass of milk.

After we ate the pie Mrs. Mallory taught Bobbijean and I how to play canasta. We were having so much fun that we didn’t even notice how dark it was outside. Santa doesn’t want us girls walking alone at night so we had to call home for someone to come and get us. Wynn the barn elf, and Cupid brought us home on the sled. You should of see how pretty our town looks at night with the lights and the snow.

Well I better be saying goodnight. I have to put on my pajamas before Santa calls me for the movie. We are going to pop some popcorn and watch a movie called “Snow Dogs”. I’m not sure what the movie is about but I will tell you about it tomorrow.

Bye!

Santa’s Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee the Elf - Day 29

Here is I am skiing this morning

Hello Everyone!

We had a pretty busy day today. This morning we had our skiing lessons.  I only fell down 5 times so I guess I am getting better.  You should see our ski teacher Galaxy. He can even do jumps and flips while skiing down the hill. Hopefully, some day I can do that!

After we finished our lesson we went to Santa’s house for hot chocolate and homemade cider donuts (Delicious!).  As I was leaving to go to work, Santa called me into his office to show me my new scanner.  My new Canon Scanner is great, you should see how fast I can put Santa’s letters into the computer now.

Tomorrow I have to work in the toyshop rather than on Santa’s mail. Matty, the elf who does the painting sprained his wrist today during his Karate lessons so I have to finish painting the dolls. It will be fun to work in the toyshop again for a couple of days. I love to paint the dolls faces.

Tonight after supper my friend Crystal, Mrs Claus and I started decorating for Thanksgiving. We have so many decorations that we are only half done.

I cannot wait until Thanksgiving.  We always have a huge Thanksgiving dinner with apple pie for dessert. After we finish eating dinner we  go Christmas tree hunting in the woods behind Santa’s house. We pick a big tree and the reindeer drag it back to Santa’s house. We then have a Christmas tree decorating party which is so much fun.

Well I better say goodnight because Mrs. Claus is coming and I am supposed to already be in bed.

See you tomorrow! Kiss

Ashlee

Santa’s Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee the Elf - Day 29

Charlie feeding Cupid his lunch today after our skiing lesson

 Hi everyone!

We had a great time at our skiing lesson this morning. Charlie, Crystal and I spent more time on the ground than on our skis. Although we fell down a lot, we did not get hurt.

We have a great teacher, his name is Galaxy. Well his real name is Glenn Galaxy, but he wants us to call him Galaxy.

When we first met Galaxy this morning we were kind of afraid of him because he looks kind of funny - spikey green and orange hair and three three earrings in each ear. He even has tattoos on some of his fingers.

Galaxy is really funny; everytime we fell down he would copy us to show us what we did wrong. We were all laughing so hard we were almost crying.

Cupid came skiing with us as Santa wanted him to get some extra exercise (remember Cupid has to lose 23 pounds before Christmas). Well Cupid did not actually ski, he pulled our sled to the top of the hill and we would ski down. Then Cupid would meet us at the bottom and pull us back up the hill. Cupid must of had fun also, as he asked Santa if he can go skiing with us again tomorrow morning.

After our skiing lesson we went back to Santa’s house and had some hot chocolate and then it was off to work.

I worked all afternoon on Santa’s letters. You would not believe how many sacks of letters he receives every day. Santa already has 6 rooms stuffed full of letters I have to type into the computer.

Today Santa saw how many letters he received and could not believe there were so many. Santa thinks there are too many letters for me to type so he decided he is going to buy me a scanner. Rather than type the letters I will be able to scan the letters into the computer. That’s a relief! I was starting to worry about getting the letters done before Christmas eve.

Oh by the way, did you send Santa your wish list yet? Santa wanted me to remind you to send your letters in early. He wants to make sure he was enough toys for everyone.

Well it is getting late so I better say goodnight. I have to put on my pajamas before Mrs. Claus calls us for our snack. I want to get to bed early so I will be ready to go skiing  in the morning.

See you tomorrow!

Ashlee the elf Kiss

P.S. I will take some pictures of us skiing for you.

Santa’s Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee the Elf - Day 28

Hi everyone!

Sorry I did not write to you yesterday. I hope you were not worried about me. I have been so busy with my new job doing Santa’s letters  that I did not even have any time write you yesterday. I am working hard, but I still love my job.

Our new dog Freddie is doing really well.  He seems to like his new home. Mrs. Claus was right  that Santa’s dog, Sparkles and Freddie would soon be friends. Freddie and Sparkles are the best of friends; they now do everything together -  Even rip apart the trash! You should of seen the mess they made last night. Yesterday we put the trash outside the reindeer barn so the trashman could pick it up. A little while later Wynn, the barn elf, came barging into Santa’s house complaining about all the garbage in the barn. We went out to look - there was trash everywhere! You should of seen the mess the dogs made. It took us almost a half an hour to clean the barn.

I have some good news…I am going to start taking skiing lessons tomorrow. I cannot wait to get started. My friend Bobbijean already knows how to ski and says it it easy once you take a few lessons. Santa thought some of the elves needed more exercise so he said we could take skiing lessons or take Karate lessons. I am not sure why but most of the elves are taking the Karate Lessons; only Crystal, Charlie and I are taking the skiing lessons.

Well I have to go now and finish my work before supper. I won’t have time to work after supper because I have to polish my new skiis and get my clothes ready. My first ski lesson isbtomorrow morning 9am. Wish me luck that I don’t fall down!

Bye!

Santa’s Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee the Elf - Day 27

Our new dog Freddie
Hi everyone!

I just got home from the Special Reindeer meeting tonight at Santa’s. The meeting was not as bad as we all thought it would be. Santa told the Reindeer that they had to stop fooling around and start getting ready for Christmas eve. He made all the Reindeer get on the scale to see how their diets were going. Two of the reindeer are still too fat - Donner and Cupid. Donner has to lose 5 pounds and poor Cupid has to lose 23 pounds. I feel kind of sad for Cupid as everyone is laughing at him because of his weight.

We have a new dog!  This afternoon we went for a ride in the sleigh with Santa and we saw a dog outside in the freezing cold so we picked him up. We tried to bring the dog home but the man at the grocery store told us the dog is a stray and does not have a home. So we brought him home with us.

As you can be by the picture above, he is absolutely adorable! We named him Freddie. He is so smart; he can shake hands, roll over, and fetch a ball.

Santa already has a dog named Sparkles who is kind of jealous of Freddie. So Freddie is going to stay in my room tonight. Mrs. Claus says that within a few days Sparkles and Freddie will get along better. My cat Ruby seems to already like Freddie. I guess Ruby likes everyone.

Mrs. Claus and I made Freddie his own bed on the floor in my room out of some old blankets from the attic. Freddie has already been sleeping in his new bed for a couple of hours now so I guess he likes it.

Well it is getting late and I still have not finished typing Santa’s letters into my new computer yet so I better say Good Night. I only have a half and hour to finish my work before our bedtime snack - I think we are having chocolate milk and Peanut butter and Ritz crackers (yum!).

See you tomorrow! Kiss

Santas Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee the elf - Day 26

Picture of my new Sony Vaio Computer that Santa gave me for my new job!

Hi Everyone!

I have some exciting news for you. Santa gave me a new job! I no longer have to work in the toyshop. I am now the official elf in charge of all the letters Santa receives.  My new job is to open all of Santa’s mail and put all of your names and the toys you want for Christmas into a computer. Santa decided to computerize the letters because he receives so many of them that they take up too much room in his house. You should see Santa’s house, two rooms are already stuffed full of letters. I have a lot of work to do, but it is fun to read all the letter so I don’t mind.

Another great thing about my new job is that Santa gave me a brand new Sony Vaio laptop computer. My other computer is an old desktop that is very slow. My new laptop is a wireless speed demon. Santa says I can do my work anywhere I want. So today I sat in a big over-stuffed chair at Santa’s house by the fireplace. I was so warm and cozy by the fire that I think I fell asleep for a little while, but I still finished all my work before supper.

This afternoon Mrs. Claus made me some peanut butter cookies and hot chocolate. While Mrs. Claus and I were eating our cookies by the fireplace we looked out the window and saw some of the elves shoveling the snow and we felt really guilty. So we went to the backdoor and called them inside to have some cookies with us. There were so many cookies leftover that we wrapped them up and took them out to the toyshop for for rest of the elves.

Santa cancelled the Special Reindeer meeting tonight because of the bad weather. It snowed all day and now the snow has changed over to sleet and freezing rain. I bet the reindeer are happy the meeting is cancelled. We are going to have the meeting tomorrow night after supper.

I love my new laptop! I am laying on the couch right now in my flannel pajamas wrapped in my pink quilt writing to you. Before with my old desktop computer I had to go up to the 3rd floor computer room to write to you.

Well I have to go now because my friends Rena and Charlie are calling me. We are going to play a game of Monopoly. Charlie will probably win again! I think he cheats, but please don’t tell him I said that.

 See you tomorrow! Kiss

Ashlee (Your favorite elf…I hope!)
