Santas Workshop ~Diary of Ashlee ~TheElf ~ Day12

Hello Everyone,

(If black box appears just click on it)

We had an accident this morning. Sam, a novice elf, caught his finger in the saw when he was sawing the wood for the blocks. His finger was bleeding badly, so Santa had to call the ambulance and have him taken to the hospital. He returned home after lunch with a great big bandage on his finger. He will be unable to work on any toys for a while. I sure hope this doesn’t put us behind in making all the toys!!

It snowed all night and was very cold and windy! One of the shutters on the elves house came loose and blew away. We couldn’t find it this morning. Santa Claus won’t have enough time to make another before Christmas. He’s too busy making all the toys for GOOD BOYS AND GIRLS!!  HE’S WATCHING YOU!!!!  BE GOOD!!

The reindeer had to exrcise inside the barn today. It was too icy around their corral and Santa didn’t want any of them to get hurt outside

Robbie, my friend, and I went looking for some clothes to wear on Halloween. In Santa’s house in the basement there are piles of left over clothes which we can use for our costume. Lots of clothes from the 50’s and 60’s. They are really weird styles!  Think I might like to be a witch ~all in black with a witches hat and broom. Robbie wants to be a baseball player ~ with bat, ball and glove.

We finished a lot of toys today ~ fire trucks, dolls, toys and coloring books. They are all ready to be given out on Christmas Eve, ~~ to all Good BOYS and GIRLS!!

Well, I want to watch tv for a while, so will have to hurry into the living room. We can oly watch tv for an hour at night, as Mrs. Claus always watches CSI Miami

See you soon,

Ashlee

Santas Workshop~ Diary of Ashlee~ The Elf ~ Day 11

This is a picture of my best friend Robbie.

Hello everyone,

There was a problem in the reindeer stable this morning. Comet and Cupid got into a big fight over which reindeer was the heaviest. Santa weighed all the reindeer and Comet and Cupid were too heavy so he put them on a low-fat oat diet. The other six reindeer were laughing at them and calling them names, which made them even madder.

Do you know what the North Pole looks like?  Well in the center is a nice big house where Mr. & Mrs. Claus live. It is a very old house and has been owned by the Claus family for hundreds of years. There is a nice picket fence along the front walk, but it can’t be seen too often because of the snow. Behind the house is a big landing field, where Santa takes off on Christmas Eve, for his trip around the world. Across the street is a bakery where a crippled  elf does a lot of great cooking and every one gains a few pounds occasionally. Then there is a barn and corral where all the reindeer live.~ Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzer, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and the most famous of all  ~Rudolph.

The elves live in smaller houses surrounding Santa’s house. Then there is the  post office where all the mail goes. Make sure you boys and girls send Santa a wish list, as Santa will try to get you something off your list.  if you’ve been GOOD !!!

Snowed again last night and we had to do some shoveling before breakfast. That was all right as Santa gave us several hours this afternoon to do what we wanted. Most of us went sliding, but several elves went skiing and ended up in the reindeer corral! Had fun ~ came in to hot chocolate and cookies, which Mrs. Claus baked.

Well that’s all for now. See you tomorrow!!

Ashlee

Santas Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee ~The Elf Day 10

Hello everyone,

Not much going on around here today. Everyone is too busy making some toys for Santa to deliver on Christmas Eve. The senior elves are still working on the wooden blocks ~cutting them into blocks and painting them with different letters of the alphabet. The novice elves started painting the doll house furniture, which takes a long time. Santa spent most of the day putting electric into the doll houses~ an overhead light in each room and the cutest doorbell at the front door. Mrs. Claus was knitting rugs, bedspreads,  tablecloths, afghans for the dollhouse.

Santa tried on his red suit that he usually wears on Christmas Eve. He looked so funny ~ he couldn’t even button his shirt and his belt didn’t go all around him. Mrs. Claus has put him on a diet ~ no snacks, no candy, just 3 basic healthy meals each day. Santa is going around saying “I’m hungry” all the time!! He even tried eating some grain from the reindeer feeder, but it was disgusting.

Hey, you kids, ~ do you know what an elf looks like? He has to be under 4′9″ (1.5m.) have a pair of pointed ears and have previous toy making experience. He works for Santa 10 months a year ~ 2 months vacation. He can have the left over toys on December 25th!! Not bad??

Well that’s all for now.  See you tomorrow.  Be good!! Santa is watching you!!!

Santas Workshop ~ Dairy of Ashlee ~ Day 9

 Hello Everyone,

We got a lot of toys made today. Our supplies arrived a few days early, so we were able to finish the bright red fire trucks with the firemen and the water hoses. The building blocks are coming along slow, as each block has to be cut to a certain size and a letter painted on all four sides. Another group started making some doll house furniture and that will take a lot of time.

The sun is shining today, but the snow isn’t melting. Santa took the sleigh for a ride by hitching the reindeer to it. The poor animals came back very tired, so Santa now makes them exercise in the morning and afternoon. He says they have many miles to travel on Christmas Eve, so they’ve got to get in good shape.

Mrs. Claus fell on the icy sidewalk and hurt her hand. She yelled as she was falling, Santa came rushing to help her, fell on his face!! Neither were hurt badly ~ but there are bruises on her hand and his face! We were all kidding him that his white beard helped him to survive the fall!!

Well, that’s all for now. Got to do the dishes and then off to bed! No tv, yet!!

Santas Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee ~ the Elf ~ Day 8

Hello Everyone,

It’s another snowy day and Santa made us shovel early this morning. We normally have Sundays to do what we want, but Santa made us shovel all morning and we had to work on the toys all afternoon because we skipped work yesterday to go sliding! ( You know what happened ~ if not ~read yesterdays diary!)

The little red wagons are almost finished. We had trouble attaching the wheels, as the bolts were a bit small, but Santa found a way to do it. The Senior elf is still cutting out the wooden blocks and the novice elf is trying to paint all the different letters on them. I guess Mrs. Claus felt sorry for all of us as she baked us a delicious white cake with lots of chocolate frosting Yum! Yum!

We had some free time after supper, so we went to the attic looking for some clothes which we could wear for a Halloween costume. Santa knew we were up there and he turned off the lights!! Wow!! Did we scream! It was so scary in the dark and we couldn’t see where we were going!  Santa was down the stairs ~ laughing! Finally he turned on the lights and we hurried down  the stairs to the kitchen. Next time we go to the attic, we’ll make sure Santa is snoozing in his chair!

Rudolph and the other reindeer didn’t get to do their exercises outside. There was too much snow in the corral. Rudolph is always complaining about his feet being cold ~ he doesn’t like the snow on his hoofs. The other reindeer love to play in the snow and chase each other around.

Well, kids that’s all for today. BE GOOD BOYS AND GIRLS!!!! SANTA IS WATCHING

Santas Workshop ~Diary of Ashlee the Elf ~ Day 7

Hello Everyone,

What a night we had ~ snowed until this morning. And the power went off and we all had to use candles. I didn’t like it being so dark and spooky.

Santa made all the elves get up real early and start doing some shoveling , even before we had our breakfast. It was very cold and the gusts of wind were blowing the snow in our faces. I think it was around noontime when Santa fell asleep on the couch and Mrs. Claus was in the bedroom painting some red wagons.

However, instead of working on our jobs making toys, we decided to play in the snow with our sleds and maybe make some snowmen. We made some good tracks in the snow on the hill behind our lodging. Boy, did our sleds go down the hill, even crashed into the fence several times. That was fun!  Then we decided to roll big balls of snow and make some snowmen. However, the snowball got too big,  got away from us, rolled down the steep hill and into the corral where the reindeer were exercising. In the meantime Santa had woke up from his nap and was standing with Rudolph in the corral. The snowball hit him directly in the tummy and knocked him over into the snow. He wasn’t too happy, but when we told him we wanted the snowman to look like him, he wasn’t quite so angry. Although he took away all our tv for a week~we were supposed to be making toys!! Not many days left before Christmas Eve according to Santa.

The baby fawn is so cute, but we are not allowed to touch him ~ only look at him. He tries to stand up but his legs are so wobbly and his “mommy” pushes him back into the hay.

Well kids I’ll have to leave you now as Mrs. Claus is ringing the bell for supper. And then it’s off to bed ~ no tv for 7 days.

Santas Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee~ the Elf Day 6

Hello everyone!

Glad to report that Mrs. Claus is feeling a great deal better. She prepared the meals today ~ No more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for a while. Too bad!  Not too bad that Mrs. Claus is well, but too bad our favorite sandwiches won’t be served as often.

As for the fire trucks, they are all made except for the firemen and the waterhoses. Hopefully they’ll be done next week after the supplies arrive. The blocks were coming along well, until our novice elf started sawing the wood. He broke about 3 sawblades in an hour. Then Santa gave him a painting job instead. I didn’t work on any toys today ~ I had to wash and dry all the elves clothes and put them in their bureau drawers. Mrs. Claus put together some reading books, which an elf had written several years ago.

We had a new baby born this morning. One of the reindeer gave birth to a fawn earlier today. Mrs. Claus let us look at the new fawn, but we couldn’t touch it. It is so small and so cute! It’ll be fun watching it grow bigger in the next year.

Finally received some snow and very cold weather. Several of the elves got their skis out of the closet, but they need to be waxed before they use them. They won’t have much free time between now and Christmas eve to use them anyway! Santa keeps everyone very, very busy working on the toys.

BETTER BE GOOD BOYS AND GIRLS!!   SANTA IS WATCHING YOU!!

The reindeer did lots of exercising today out in the snow! Rudolph, as usual was complaining about his feet being cold in the snow.

Well, kids, it is my bedtime and I’m tired. See you tomorrow

Santa’s Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee the Elf Day 5

Hello everyone,

It has been very busy around here today! Christmas Eve is getting closer and we are working many hours a day. Any way most of the fire trucks are painted, but the water hoses haven’t been connected as we ran out of the connecting nozzles. Our supplies don’t arrive until the end of next week. Our Senior Elf, started sawing the wood for the blocks. They take a long time to cut into blocks and paint with alphabet letters on all four sides.

We had to get our own meals today, as Mrs. Claus was in bed most of the day. She has a cold and Santa thought she should rest. We all had a chance to make our favorite sandwich ~ Of course that’s peanut butter and jelly. I hate to see Mrs. Claus sick, but the sandwiches were great!!  Yum!  Yum! I could eat them at every meal.

The reindeer had a long session of exercising ~ they were tired and hungry at supper time. Got to get them into good shape for Christmas Eve or no boys and girls will get their presents.

We went looking around the attic for some clothes to wear to our Halloween party. Mr. & Mrs. Claus always holds a costume party for all his workers. It’s always fun bobbing for apples, eating ice cream and soda.

Well, I have to leave for now and hurry to the tv room. BE GOOD BOYS AND GIRLS!!  SANTA IS WATCHING YOU!!!!

Santa’s Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee the Elf`~ 4th Day

Hello Everyone,

It has been a very busy day, as usual. The  pink doll clothes were all sewed by the novice elf. Tomorrow we will finish dressing all the dolls, and they are all so cute! The firetrucks have all been painted a bright red. Hopefully the ladders can be added in a few days. One of the senior elves started working on the firemen who are being dressed in bright yellow firemen’s clothes. Some other elves started wotking on the fire hoses.

This afternoon Rudolph and Vixen, another reindeer skipped away from the exercises and  went on a long hike into the woods. They were gone quite some time and Santa was worried about them. They finally returned, but they were very tired and hungry! Santa punished them by sending them to bed directly after Mrs. Claus gave them something to eat.

George, another elf, has been giving me a very hard time with my Ipod. I enjoy listening to my western music, but George slipped in  rap music instead. He thought it was very funny, but I didn’t. Then tonight another elf, Jason hid my Ipod in Santa Claus’s suit which he only wears on Christmas Eve. Luckily another elf showed me where Jason had taken it into Santa’s room!

I have to get going now because I want to be the first one in the tv room. The first person there gets to choose what program we watch! We get to watch tv for an hour and then Mrs. Claus sends us to bed, as she wants to watch CSI Miami!!

See you tomorrow

Santa’s Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee the Elf - Day 3

This is a picture of me receiving my presents

Hello Everyone,

What a great day! Got all the doll faces painted and all the red doll clothes sewed. Jim, a novice elf, did a great job painting the little, red firetrucks. Hopefully the paint will be dry enough to add the fireman’s ladders to the truck in the morning. They will be so pretty when they’re all done.  So you kids better be good!!  Santa is watching You!!

However, let me tell you what happened to me this afternoon. I had a surprise birthday party given by Mr. & Mrs. Claus and all the elves. Santa even let the reindeer attend for a whileThe room was all decorated with red and green streamers and balloons. In the center of the room was a table piled with gifts. I got mittens, a scarf, earmuffs, boots, slippers, but my favorite present was from Mr. & Mrs. Claus ~ my very own ipod! And the food was delicious ~ chocolate cake and ice cream.  But Mrs. Claus made us eat our peanut butter sandwiches first! It was a great party and the first one I ever had in my lifetime.

Well kids, that’s all for today

See you tomorrow!  Kiss
