Santa's Workshop ~ Diary of Ashlee the Elf - Day 38

Hi everyone!
I had another busy day again. I woke up at 6:30am to go for an early skiing lesson. This is the first time I have been skiing in almost 10 days. Last week I couldn't go skiing because of the blizzard and this week we were busy getting ready for Thanksgiving. It felt great to finally be able to get back out on the slopes. I think I am doing pretty good as I only fell down twice today. My ski teacher, Galaxy, says I won't need to take lessons much longer.
After skiing I went to Santa's house for a big breakfast of blueberry pancakes (yum!). After breakfast we loaded all the Christmas Decorations into the sleigh to take to the town hall for the town Christmas decorating party this afternoon.
After delivering the decorations, we went back to Santa's to get the sleigh and the reindeer ready. We polished the sleigh and brushed the reindeer's hair. All the reindeer (except Rudolph) wore shiny new red collars. Since Rudulph is the lead reindeer he wore a shiny green and red collar.
At noontime we all climbed into the sleigh to go to the decorating party. We made a grand entrance into town. Everyone loved Santa and the reindeer....people were standing on the sidewalks and on the common cheering for us. We tossed candy to the children as we passed by. The high school band was even playing christmas carols.
What a wonderful afternoon we all had. We decorated all the trees on the common, the bandstand and all the shops and houses in the center of town. Santa took everyone for a sleigh ride and then let the children sit on his lap to have their pictures taken. Even the reindeer had fun having their pictures taken. You should of seen Rudolph; he loves to be the center of attention. He had everyone dancing and singing; it was so funny.
Mrs. Claus and Santa's sister Rosie served warm cider, and hot chocolate to keep us warm. Mr. Barkley who owns the local bakery served free donuts.
We finished decorating around 5pm. When we turned the lights on the whole town looked like a magical wonderland. I do not think I have ever seen anything so pretty.
After we finished decorating we all went to the town hall for our Spaghetti supper. More people showed up to eat then we expected so we ran out of spaghetti. Luckily, Mrs. Reilly who owns the local grocery store donated more spaghetti so everyone had something to eat. After everyone finished eating it took us almost two hours to clean the hall. We finally got home at around 9pm.
Well I better say goodnight. The last few days have been so busy and tiring that I can hardly keep my eyes open.
Talk to you tomorrow.
